CUSTOMER PERSONNEL RELATIONS

PRACTICAL SUGGETIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL CUSTOMER – PERSONNEL RELATIONS

1. Greet every customer promptly and pleasantly. Do not wait for customers to greet you or speak to you first.
2. Be sincerely interested in your customers and show it.
3. listen attentively to your customers and let them finish what they are trying to say before you say anything. Do not interrupt them.
4. Always say ‘ Will you ?” and not ‘ You must ‘ or ‘ You have to “
5. Remember to use ‘ please “ and ‘ Thank you ‘ all the time. They cost nothing but mean a great deal to your customers.
6. Remember your customers’ names and address them politely e.g. “ Good morning, Mr. Smith ! “ . This technique make them feel welcome and that they belong to the place. If you don’t know their names, always address them by “ Sir “ or “ Ma’am “ . Never call them “ Eh!”.
7. Be thoughtful and considerate towards your customers.
8. Be friendly and helpful all the time
9. Be courteous and cordial
10. Be generous in praise and avoid criticizing any of your customers.
11. Be loyal to your customers
12. Respect the fact that your customers have emotions and can get hurt just as easily as you can
13. Do not betray any confidential information from your customers
14. Be alert to give service to all your customers
15. Do not be over sensitive and take yourself too seriously
16. Above all, do not be a hyprocrite !
